Facility Assessments

Adept Innovation & Technology performs many different types of Facility Assessments. We provide assessments for owner clients and their insurance carriers to provide a “State of the Fire Detection System” report. We also work with Fire Alarm and Fire Detection installation companies to provide 3^rdParty Fire Alarm Commissioning Agents. All assessments are conducted in accordance with IBC, IFC, NFPA72, NFPA99, JCO requirements and many other regulations at the federal, state, and local government level. Each assessment report is reviewed and approved by a NICET IV Senior Fire Detection Engineering Technician.

Code Analysis

As building Occupancy Classifications change, so do the required systems and device placements. Adept Innovation & Technology actively participates in many code bodies to ensure we educate our staff continuously on the evolving code requirements. We provide code analysis on existing facilities and new design projects alike, keeping the safety of the owner’s occupants and facilities in mind as provide comprehensive design in accordance with IBC, IFC, NFPA72, NFPA99, JCO requirements and many other regulations at the federal, state, and local government level.

System Layouts

Adept Innovation & Technology will provide complete system layouts for fire alarm detection systems, putting the technical provisions into a visual format for the owner, AHJ, and installation teams to review. System design layouts can be provided in both 2D AutoCAD format with drawings adhering to the design standards; or BIM Revit providing complete 3D interactive modeling of spaces. The system layout and design will be complete to include all requirements for supporting infrastructure, power, pathways, egress, and ADA requirements.

Voltage Drop Calculations

As part of a complete engineering design, voltage drop calculations are essential prior to field installation to ensure system operation within code limits. Adept Innovation & Technology provides complete engineering calculations as part our design solutions. We also provide assistance to Fire Alarm Installation Companies performing engineering calculations for their systems in order to ensure proper performance and to attain Fire Alarm Permits from AHJs. In addition to Voltage Drop Calculations, the Adept Innovation team provides battery back up calculations for both commercial and Federal installations. We maintain an up to date knowledge base for IBC, IFC, NFPA72, NFPA99, JCO, along with federal government design standards to include UFC.

Speech Intelligibility Validation

With the ever-increasing requirements to provide a Voice Evacuation Fire Alarm System and Mass Notification Systems, which both utilize a voice message to annunciate instructions on the alarm, the requirements for sound modeling during the design phase have become a necessity. Adept Innovation & Technology possess the knowledge to assess the acoustical characteristics of an owner’s facility to design and layout the appropriate speaker coverage. We validate the design through modeling, and through ensuring Speech Intelligibility testing and commissioning is performed by the installation company. Additionally, we provide 3^rd Party Commissioning services to test and validate Speech Intelligibility for installation companies abroad.
